III. HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

TOXICOLOGY

Threshold Limit Value: Vinyl Acetate 10ppm (1991 - 1991 ACGIH TWA)
Eye Contact: May cause moderate irritation. May cause moderate corneal injury.
Skin Contact: Excessive exposure may cause irritation to upper respiratory tract. A single prolonged exposure may result in the material being absorbed in harmful amounts.
Inhalation: Excessive exposure may cause irritation to upper respiratory tract. A single prolonged exposure is not likely to be hazardous. Signs and symptoms of excessive exposure may be central nervous system effect.
Occupational Exposure None established.
FIRST AID EMERGENCY PROCEDURES:  
Never give fluids or induce vomiting if patient is unconscious or having convulsions.
Swallowed: Induce vomiting if large amounts are ingested. Consult medical personnel.
Eye Contact: Irrigate with flowing water immediately and continuously for 15 minutes. Consult medical personnel.
Skin: In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Call a physician if irritation persists. Wash clothing before reuse. Destroy contaminated shoes.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give mouth-to mouth resuscitation. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician.
NOTE: No specific antidote. Supportive care. Treatment based on judgement of the physician in response to reactions of the patient.
IV. SPILL, LEAK, AND DISPOSAL PRECEDURES
Spill response procedures: Spillage should be contained by and covered with large quantities of sand, earth or similar absorbent material that is then brushed in, vigorously to assist absorption. The mixture can then be collected with a plastic shovel into drums or plastic bags and then removed for disposal. Prevent from flowing into ground or surface water.
Disposal methods: Follow all relevant regulations for disposal.
Storing: Store containers well closed in a well ventilated area. Do not store in sunlight, ground all equipement.
NOTE: Dispose of all waste in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Ventilation and engineering controls: Local exhaust ventilation may be necessary for some operations.
Respiratory protection (type): If respiratory irritation is experienced, use an approved aire-purifying respirator. For emergency conditions, use an approved positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus.
