XOLB Glacier Whites
XOLB 150: Bright and thick with excellent coverage. XOLB 150 is best for printing on cotton, fleece athletic bags and caps. Prints great on shell nylon using MF66 Nylon Bonding Agent, especially if the substrate has been treated. Exhibits fair bleed resistance. XOLB 150 has a tendency to thicken in storage, we recommend adding LFP1010 Soft Hand Base if this is a problem.
XOLB 151: XOLB 151 will give you the thickest deposit of the Glacier White Ink series. It exhibits excellent coverage on dark fabrics and good brightness quality. XOLB 151 offers the best bleed resistance of the Glacier White series. Best for automatic printing but will also work well for manual printing. XOLB 151 is ideal for shops looking to carry one white for all applications.
XOLB 158: Soft, creamy consistency with very high opacity, coverage and brightness. Offers good bleed resistance. Recommended for manual printing. Use XOLB 158 as a highlight or finish white in your design to enhance the overall effect of your print. XOLB 158 has an excellent shelf life in hot climates.
XOLB 159: XOLB 159 offers a thick deposit with superior coverage and opacity. This is the best of the Glacier White series for printing on dark garments and exhibits a better bleed resistance than the XOLB 158. XOLB 159 also has a good shelf life in hot climates.
Description: Glacier White exhibits a brilliant whiteness. It is soft, creamy, easy to print and has excellent opacity and flash cure times.
Printing Recommendations: Screen meshes in the range of 86-110 threads per inch are recommended for best opacity. We recommend using Westar Solutions highly tensioned frame stretched with high quality low elongation mesh. Use just enough pressure to deposit the ink on the surface of the shirt. This enhances the opacity and helps ensure a good cure. Try not to drive the ink into the fabric. Squeegee in the 60-80 durometer range with a sharp edge work well.
Flash Curing: Glacier White will flash in 3 seconds (10 watts per square inch heating area) or 4-5 seconds (6-7 watts per square inch heating area) depending on your flash unit.
Curing: Recommended cure temperature is 325°F for 60-90 seconds depending on the curing unit and the thickness of ink deposit. The ink must be heated throughout to properly cure. When cured properly the ink is 100% washable. Low wash temperatures and cooler dryer settings are recommended. Do not iron or dry clean.
Finish: Glacier White cures to a semi-gloss finish.
Substrates: Glacier White is designed to provide maximum opacity on dark fabrics, 100% cotton and 50/50 cotton/poly blends. Always test your garments.
Modifiers: Glacier White is ready to use. Modification is not necessary unless you are trying to achieve a special effect. Any extenders will affect opacity. QCM DT-01 Detactifier can be added at a ratio of 1-2% to reduce viscosity while maintaining opacity. Do not add more than 5%.
Clean UP: Use Franmar's Greeneway plastisol ink remover or Franmar's Color Change on press
ink cleaner for best clean up results. Franmar products are available at westarsolutions.com.
